REHABILITATION |
A new specially equipped dog hydrotherapy center is available at Swanson's Streamway Dog Park and Daycare to aid the recovery
of dogs affected by injury or illness.
We are very excited about the new center, which will offer revolutionary hydrotherapy treatment for dogs recovering from
accidents or who suffer from conditions such as arthritis, hip dysplasia and other similar related problems.
With equipment provided by Westcoast, the leading manufacturer
of animal rehabilitation equipment, the center will offer treatments at a reasonable price per session.
The equipment provides various benefits to all dogs. For a dog recovering from a severe condition or major surgery and learning
to walk again, the water walker is a perfect solution. As the name suggests, this piece of equipment allows the dog to exercise
on a treadmill while some or almost all of its weight is supported by water.
The stainless steel animal hot spa is particularly beneficial to elderly dogs with arthritis and ones with muscle injuries,
strains and sprains. The floor can be lowered or raised depending on the size of the dog.
Anybody who is interested in knowing more about the use of hydrotherapy for animal rehabilitation should
contact Dr. Jim Swanson at Welborn
Pet Hospital (913-334-6770) or at Swanson's Streamway Dog Park and Daycare -(913) 422-8242.
Ask your vet about a referral.
